The 2020 Parade RC Car Competition will be comprised of 2 separate competitive events: the exciting on-road event and the adventurous off-road event. They will be held:
On-Road Track Competition- Tuesday, June 23rd Location TBD
Off-Road Track Competition- Wednesday, June 24th Flores Ballroom 1
Here’s an event for the entire family! Come join in one, or both RC events and challenge your family members. You’ll be joining other families that come out each year.
The RC On-Road Track Event will be adjacent to the Ice Cream Social. We will be running heats of 3 – 5 cars each, providing competition for the drivers and entertainment for our spectators. Events will be held on either an indoor or outdoor course, depending on the Parade venue.
The RC Off-Road Track event will be running heats of 2-3 cars, et al. This will offer our competitors a chance to navigate one of these outrageous off-road monster Cayenne’s on a fun off-road course.
Both events are open to entrants of all ages. If you don’t have an RC car, don’t worry, we’ll be have shared loaner vehicles for practice and racing if you need one.
You're also welcome to bring your own on-road or off-road RC car, however it must have a replica body of a real Porsche (911, Cayenne, etc.). We will be running primarily 1/10th scale vehicles, however you're welcome to bring smaller or larger scale RC. These may be grouped into their own class at the time of the event.
To ensure a fun and fair experience, classes will be established for each event based on turnout.
Awards will be given out for the top winners in each class.
If you’ve ever thought about driving a radio-controlled car, this is your opportunity! Whether you're interested in the on-road cars that can do 30+mph, or an off-road machine that can take a few jumps and keep going, come join the Parade RC fun!
The RC event schedule will be available at Parade Registration on Sunday.
Also, if you are in need of a Cayenne body for your 1/10th scale off-road truck, please check out the following site. The Cayenne body supports trucks that have a 10 ½ inch wheelbase. Trimming and painting are required. Other length wheelbases may require more trimming or modification.
