Every Porsche is personalized in one way or another. It’s a reflection of their owner. Whether its color, seat fabric or wild body accessories – each tells a story. Sometimes referred to as “Outlaw”, this year’s Historic Display will feature those Porsches that have been modified from the factory delivered version to a modernized, modified beauty.
Outlaw’s, or resto-Porsches, are highly upgraded older cars with new Porsche safety and technology. They’re designed to be driven regularly and comfortably. For example, air conditioning, 928 12-way power seats, full 911 suspension & brakes, cruise control, rear-body widening, navigation, backup camera, satellite radio, 3-way glass sunroof.
In addition to the Outlaw Porsches, this years Historics Display will also honor the tradition of La Quinta Resort with a tribute to Old Hollywood. There will be a section of the Historics Display that features cars that tie themselves to Hollywood, like the 928 you see below from the movie Risky Business, to go along with the other modified cars and modified race cars.
The Historics Display will be incorporated within the Concours d'Elegance on Monday. Some entries will also be judged as part of the competition, although it’s not necessary. Plan to visit the 2020 display at Parade.
There won’t be a single stock Porsche allowed.
